Alireza's work is on extending second principles model potentials to interfaces. Since the model potentials for bulk structures are already developed, he will be using these potentials to create interfaces of two materials.  The primary goal is to study interfaces of Ferroelectric/dielectric materials where we can have different topological defect formation on ferroelectric materials. He will also consider other interfaces (i.e., CaTiO3/SrTiO3) to understand how domains behave at the interface.
